Inspiration - Set design/ Behind the Scenes photography
It’s been a while since my last inspiration post so I thought it was about time! For some reason I’ve always been a huge fan of the ‘making of’ sections on DVDs for a while now and I’m fascinated with the detail that goes into set design. For me, the pioneering special effects of the time in such films as 2001: A Space Odyssey and the hand made set design in Honey i shrunk the Kids is far more compelling than some of the CGI around today. I guess it just comes down to me personally being a big fan of the low-tech.
Anyway here are a few pictures I’ve found online (the old ones are always the best) from the likes of Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey and They Live. This post also seemed appropriate as I’ve recently just finished a magazine cover about the diary of a film/TV production assistant which I’ll upload over the next couple of days.
