The Where, The What & The How: 75 Artists Illustrate the Wondrous Mysteries of the Universe
Julia Rothman contacted me a while back to produce an illustration for Chronicle books new publication which is planned for release in late 2012. The content of the book itself is a collaboration between scientist and illustrator.
The question I illustrated was ‘Why do humans and ants have so much in common?’ and the Chronicle books team wanted the artwork to lie somewhere between editorial illustration and scientific diagrams.
I was working on another project at the time this brief came in, so I chose to go for a fairly simplistic approach to the illustration.
